Enjoyed hearing from Pastor Kiyle and Rob tonight at our Christmas Eve Candlelight Service. A wonderful message/story for the kids and a lesson also for us adults.
Enjoyed the Christmas music and program put on by the children and Anissa Decker yesterday. It was beautiful.
Same time and place but the glory of the mountain veiled. 2 Corinthians 3:12-18 12 Since we have such a hope, we are very bold, 13 not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face so that the Israelites might not gaze at the outcome of what was being brought to an end. 14 But their minds were hardened. For to this day, when they read the old covenant, that same veil remains unlifted, because only through Christ is it taken away. 15 Yes, to this day whenever Moses is read a veil lies over their hearts. 16 But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. As the the Israelites where so focused on the Law the true beauty and Glory of God was Veiled. I think the same is said for us who are so focused on agendas, desire, wants, emotions and many circumstances of the Day, Veils the true amazing grandeur of God’s Holy Glory! Sometimes those things are like the clouds blowing in and cover all but a glimmer of the tip of the glorious Mountain. If we turn and believe in God’s beautiful work though Christ, God will unveil the things of this world so we can behold the Glory of our Great God! Do we live with unveiled sight of God’s Glory? Some days it’s hard because the things of this world blows in but if we set our gaze and wait patiently, God is Faithful. He will remind us He is there. He is faithfully working to build us up and purify us to one day see Him Face to face. What a day that will be!!
We forgot to mention this in the bulletin. Don't forget to set your clocks back one hour Saturday night. Pastor, you get an extra hour to work on your sermon. It better be good. lol
Looking forward to hearing from Mike Riddle, founder and president of the Creation Training Initiative at Creation Research Institute, tomorrow morning.
It was nice to have Pastor Ralph Poulson sharing the sermon with us again today. What an answer to prayer!
We were blessed by Pastor Kiyle's message today about our confidence in Christ and His gospel.
"But the Lord said to Samuel, 'Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.'” 1 Samuel 16:7 Listen to last week's sermon on the rest of 1 Samuel 16 on our website. http://ferndalebaptist.sermon.net/Home_Page/main/20896056

"And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God." "Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection." Colossians 3:12-14
We hope you are staying warm and traveling safely as needed! The current forecast calls for more below freezing weather with potential snow arriving this coming Sunday morning. With that in mind, we have decided to cancel Sunday School. If we are able to have church, we will enjoy the children's Christmas Program "Star Trip" together during the morning service, beginning at 10:45 am, rather then the originally scheduled evening time. If the weather necessitates cancelling church altogether, then we will have the children's program on Wednesday evening, December 21st at 6:00 pm.
Another great AWANA year! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MI1RUECqkD4
